Inspired by the satchels favored by bowlers, this distinctive style made its debut during the 1950s and 1960s. While not designed to accommodate an actual bowling ball, it distinguished itself as the inaugural bag featuring a gracefully curved, semicircular silhouette, ingeniously providing ample space for one's daily essentials.
Miuccia Prada is widely credited with transforming bowlers from a practical item – used for carrying balls, naturally – to a cult accessory during the spring/summer 2000 collections, when she paired them with her sexy minimalist ready-to-wear for the first time.
